The Bear's Surgery

So, today was the big surgery day. We had to be at the hospital by 5:30am, so we were up at 4. We got there, registered, then went up to the Pediatric Pre Op. It's a very kid friendly environment with nice nurses and tv's at each bed. They don't put in IV's until the kids are asleep, so there is nothing scary happening there. The Bear was in high spirits the whole time; watching The Disney Channel, playing with the toys with Gram, giving Pooh Bear a ride in the car strollers and chillin' out "Michael Phelps" style, watching videos of himself on my Zune. He was wheeled out of the room with a big smile on his face, heading off with the anesthesiologist to pick out a "flavor" for the sleeping gas. (He picked bubblegum, by the way.)

Kickin' back with the Doodle Bops

Zune-ing out!

Hang on Pooh Bear!

Playing the cool Pin Ball game with Gram

It's great to be a kid...no worries, no anxiety. Mom needs to learn a lesson from The Bear!

And here he is this afternoon. Two huge casts on his legs and up in the office, playing computer games. He can't walk yet, so we're lugging him around. A little tricky, but manageable. He'll be back to normal in no time!

Oh dear....as a mom I know you must have been so worried.....

It's so nice that the hospital is so kid friendly and puts them at their ease....look at Bear's cute smiles...

I hope everything turns out successfully and everyone is alright.

I'm so glad everything went well. He doesn't look too uncomfy in that last picture. Here's hoping he remains fairly pain-free.

Hang in there sweetie.

Sounds like all is well. It's amazing how kids bounce back from surgery and want to go full speed by the next day. Have fun!
