A Special Anniversary!

I just got a call from my mom in New Mexico. She called to say that although my birthday was 2 days ago, this is the 36th anniversary of the first day she and my dad met me. They went to the Social Services office to pick me up, and as they got there, the social worker was just arriving from the hospital with me. She said I was all bundled in pink in a cute basket with a big curl on top of my head. She said they were just so excited!

Mom said they carried me home in the basket, stopping to surprise both sets of my grandparents! (Can you imagine...no car seats!)

Happy "First Day As A Family" to us!

Happy belated birthday! This was a great story. No car seats? Wow! You are old! Just kidding, my parents didn't have one my first year. :o)

Belated Happy Birthday!! And Happy Anniversary, too. We have an anniversary in our family for when we were sealed in the temple (my parents are converts). Hope you're having a great one!

That is an awesome story, how great that she shares it with you! On the car seat/seat belt thing, I remember my dad retrofitting our cars with seatbelts, and I'm NOT old! I don't even remember seeing a car seat until I was maybe in college? Maybe I just didn't pay attention as a teenager, lol.

Oh I love this story. :) That's awesome. My hubby was adopted too and we can not WAIT to adopt ourselves. How rad.

And yes, my mom said she used to drive around with me in the back in a laundry basket. LOL

Happy Birthday! Yes, I realize I am late, but I have an excuse! I think it's so rad, this anniversary of yours! A curl eh? Mom used to tell me...ahem -
"There once was a little girl
Who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good
She was really really good
But when she was bad she was horrid."

Not that it applies to you, but the curl part just made me think of that little poem, and well, it's early alright! LOL ;-)
